A Tribute To Three Chefs
Dominick
Savastano Jr. 1934-1980
Eugene Bottiglieri 1917-1996
Angelo Gianelli 1939-1993
Dominick Savastano Jr. - My Father
A tremendous inspiration to me in my life; my hero when I was a boy. Through his love and teaching,
he molded me into the man and chef I am today.
A restaurant man his whole life, he, along with his brothers, Anthony, were the originators of Casa Nova restaurant
in Port Richmond and also ran the Beachcomber in Annadale. Those who knew him, loved him. I love him and miss
him. God Bless you, Dad.
Eugene Bottiglieri- My Uncle
Eugene Bottiglieri co-owned and operated Gene's Restaurant in Port Richmond for over 50 years. The senior
salesman of them all, his fine talents in the kitchen could only be surpassed by very few. I had the privilege to work
under his guidance for many years. I am proud to call him my uncle, my friend. Though he is no longer here in
this world, his recipes live on. God Bless you Uncle Gebe, you are sorely missed.
Angelo Gianelli- My Dear Friend
Born is Genoa, Italy, his northern Italian flare for cooking made him extraordinarily good. I was fortunate
enough to get to work with him for many years, then had the honor to employ him for a couple of years. A very talented
chef, his saute work was spectacular. Angelo, my friend, you are missed.
These three chefs, all no longer here in this world, will live on in this restaurant, for it is their recipes
you are enjoying tonight.
